Pearson College London has been shortlisted for two prestigious national awards for their efforts to help their students secure graduate jobs through innovative careers support and high-profile industry engagement.

The College’s Business School works with industry giants such as, L’Oréal, IBM, Mondelez, Mastercard and Tesco, to name but a few, while Escape Studios has industry partnerships with Framestore, Epic Games, Industrial Light & Magic and PlayStation London Studio. Pearson Business School also offers a guaranteed internship scheme, which has ensured its students gain valuable work experience with big brands including eBay, Saatchi & Saatchi, Accenture, the Civil Service and Oxfam.

Their Talent Development programme and app includes peer-to-peer mentoring and a focused network of professionals and alumni providing mentoring, mock interviewing, and careers advice. During the 2019/20 academic year, more than 330 industry engagements featuring 120 different companies were organised across both schools.

These are just some of the activities that have led to the College being recognised for two awards. Firstly, being shortlisted for Best University Employability Strategy Award in the Target Jobs – National Graduate Recruitment Awards. This award celebrates the achievements made to ensure that undergraduates are best equipped to achieve their potential when searching and applying for graduate roles and transitioning to employment.

The College hopes to be the institution accepting the trophy at a gala awards dinner taking place in Grosvenor House in London on 1 October.

The second recognition is the award for Best University and Employer Engagement Strategy, run by the ISE – Institute of Student Employers, which recognises outstanding commitment to developing meaningful relationships through engagement with employers.

“Industry engagement is part of our DNA at Pearson College London, so we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards,” said Roxanne Stockwell, Principle of Pearson College London. “They completely align with our aim of linking academic study and employability opportunities together to benefit students.

“We believe that a well-rounded university education happens in the classroom and in the real world, so our students receive practical experience and build real relationships with our amazing employer partners, helping them to stand out from the graduate crowd. We’re a boutique institution that aims high and encourages success, so this recognition is testament to our wonderful students, alumni and colleagues across the College.”
