CHRISTEENE the incendiary performance artist known for unleashing a raw spirit of ferocious music, unabashed sexuality and fiery intimate stank, will be making a triumphant return to London for one night only at Soho Theatre Walthamstow on Saturday 7th June in what promises to be a night of total artistic exorcism.
Infamous for shows that blur the line between the sacred and the profane, CHRISTEENE’s performances have become the stuff of queer punk legend: raw and intimate exchanges, distressed choreography, and macabre spectacles, with this new show being a wild theatrical affair.
Styled from the forgotten scraps of society and wielding sermons on the world’s burning truths, CHRISTEENE has built a cult following across the globe. They have collaborated with and shared stages with the likes of Faith No More, Peaches, Fever Ray, John Grant, Soft Cell, Justin Vivian Bond, and David Hoyle, with longtime collaborators including award-winning filmmaker PJ Raval, fashion alchemist Michèle Lamy, and visionary designer Rick Owens.
A muse for photographers such as Juergen Teller, Matt Lambert, Wolfgang Tillmans and Katerina Jebb, CHRISTEENE has been featured in publications including anOther, Dazed, Spin, Art Forum, Interview and The New Yorker.
From the hallowed halls of The Barbican and National Concert Hall Dublin to legendary queer venues like Vogue Fabrics Dalston and The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, CHRISTEENE brings an unparalleled energy to every venue – leaving no soul unshaken.
