POLICING Minister Chris Philp has issued an appeal for the public to help find the alleged Clapham chemical attacker Abdul Ezedi.
He told GB News: “While the Metropolitan Police are using all the resources at their disposal to find this man, including the extensive use of CCTV, they’ve appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
“Anybody with information should contact the police. If they’ve got information about where he’s staying. If anyone is harbouring him, or letting him stay somewhere, please come forward and give that information to the police.”
In an interview during Breakfast with Ellie Costello and Stephen Dixon, he continued: “He has committed what is obviously a terrible, terrible attack and we need to find him as quickly as possible.
“So please anyone that knows anything, it doesn’t matter what the circumstances are, please urgently contact the police with that information.”
He also announced new amendments to the Criminal Justice Bill to allow police to arrest protesters wearing face covering and make it illegal to carry flares at demonstrations.
Philp said: “We’re concerned to make sure that where protests happen, they don’t cause unreasonable disruption to the public. That’s why we’re making some corrections following recent legal cases where people say that protesting is a reasonable excuse for disrupting other people.
“We don’t think it should be. So we’re clarifying the rules around that. We’re also making sure that our principal war memorials are respected.”
