Beloved City of London pub, the Cheshire Cheese, has reopened after an exciting six figure investment.
Located under the iconic railway arches of Fenchurch Street Station, the Cheshire Cheese closed at the start of August to begin an extensive refurbishment with the pub upgrading many of its facilities, leading to two new jobs created in the community.
The popular pub now resides as a part of Stonegate Group, the refurbishment has seen the pub group invest wisely in a complete refresh with vibrant contemporary décor being added to help fuel the pub’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.
As part of Stonegate Group’s commitment to position every site for success, the investment has been carefully allocated to enhance the pub’s offerings while preserving its historic charm. The pub first began trading in the 1600s and has been part of the community ever since.
The pub will also now have additional TV screens throughout the venue, taking the total of TV screens to nine, ensuring sports fans won’t miss a second of the action.
Furthermore, pub sport lovers can now test their dart skills alongside the best in town, thanks to the addition of a dartboard, perfect for playing when unwinding after a long day at work.
What’s more, four legged friends are welcome throughout the pub, with the community pub being a popular spot for dog walkers as the banks of the River Thames are just a short distance away.
An enticing new range of cask ales has helped further improve the pub’s beverage offering with a rotating range of casks ensuring beer lovers will always have something new and appealing to try from their local.
However, those not drinking alcohol will be able to choose from an extensive range of no and low alcohol options, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Accompanying the drink offerings, the Cheshire Cheese is proud to boast a best-in-class food offering, with sharers, small plates, burgers and pub classics making up just some of the many tantalising treats available to guests.
Additionally, MiXR users can access exclusive rewards at the Cheshire Cheese by downloading the MiXR app and creating an account.
Wednesday saw the pub reopen with a bang as a VIP night took place, while the pub reopened to the public on Thursday with local band, The Order, taking to the stage and entertaining the locals with a selection of hits.
A Meet the Brewer event was immensely popular with Londoners, where locals enjoyed chatting to local brewers from independent West London brewery, Portobello Brewery, learning all things beer and craft.
Mark Murphy, General Manager of the Cheshire Cheese, said: “These renovations are in line with Stonegate’s commitment to always improve and innovate, enabling us to enhance our guest experience.
“The renovations have improved our warm and welcoming atmosphere while developing the community feel of the pub. We’re confident in our competitively priced top-class beer range, our new and improved facilities allowing for a more comfortable and enjoyable pub experience, and alongside the best darts room in town, we know locals are going to love the new-look pub.”
