PRINCE Harry has been called a “platinum plated plonker” by political commentator and Reclaim Party deputy leader Martin Daubney.
Airing his view on the prince’s speech to the United Nations, Mr Daubney told GB News: “So here we have a platinum plated plonker.
“UN conference in New York, talking about climate change, about how he fears for the world, and has been left battered and helpless by the last 12 months.
“He’s saying it’s creating havoc on the most vulnerable suffering. Most of all, how can a guy who gets £4 million of taxpayers’ money still bang on about feeling entitled.
“And he’s talking about daring, transformative decisions are required? Well, here’s one – stop taking private jets to climate change conferences, that might work.”
He added: “I think people are totally sick of this performative virtue signalling nonsense.”
Asked if he thought the Sussexes were more popular in the States than the UK, he said: “I don’t think that’s true.
“I think a certain metropolitan, well-off climate change zealot elite because that’s what he is, he appeals to them. He doesn’t appeal to people in Arkansas or Texas or Florida.”
He added: “These people are amongst the most polluting, the most entitled, and the wealthiest on the planet.
“So therefore, they pose the most [risk], to try and self-flagellate their way out of the problem – I think he is an absolute hypocrite, he should put sock in it.”
Prince Harry gave a wide-ranging speech in New York yesterday, touching on subjects like climate change, abortions rights and the US constitution.
He was selected as a speaker to mark Nelson Mandela Day but has faced questions about his expertise in these areas.
Prince Harry has described the Roe v Wade ruling on abortion as a “global assault on democracy and freedom”.
He urged world leaders to tackle climate change: “We can grow apathetic, succumb to anger or yield to despair, surrendering to the gravity of what we’re up against,” he said.
The appearance of Harry and Meghan in New York was the first time they have been seen since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
It also coincided with the publication of extracts from the forthcoming book on the couple by the famed investigative journalist Tom Bower.
In May, he told GB News that the book will show that the Duchess of Sussex “trampled” on others on her way to the top.
“The victims are keen to talk and they have spoken. And it’s a really gripping story,” he said.
“It is a story, an untold story. I have found out things which are really quite extraordinary about her.”
