With a busy week behind him Richard Riakporhe is ready for his 7th Fight at the O2 Arena. After public training on Wednesday followed by the press conference on Thursday, the rising cruiserweight went on to Sky Sports News on Thursday evening to talk about [with presenter Jim White about his sparring partner and mentor Dilian Whyte], his self-imposed boot camp trip to Cuba to perfect his craft, and his signature finishing moves.
On Friday the 6’5 Riakporhe weighed-in at Spitalfield Market for his face-off against Elvis Dube on the undercard on the much anticipated Whyte vs Parker fight night this Saturday, the 28th of July 2018 at the O2 Arena. The boxer has been preparing for his fight in Cuba and demonstrated that he is in pristine fighting shape.
Boxing correspondent and bestselling author Paul Zanon speaks on the cruiserweight and the upcoming fight:
“Richard Riakporhe is a feared man in the cruiserweight division. The mild-mannered, polite and endearing Londoner transforms into a demolition expert once he steps through the ropes. His fight against Dube is all part of the necessary early journey mechanics needed to move up the rankings, but Dube is a very resistant journeyman, very capable of skiving and surviving for the duration of the contest. If Riakporhe stops Dube, he’ll make a big statement.
The fight we all need to see is Riakporhe against Okolie. The sooner the better please. I’d see Riakporhe coming out victorious.”
