Richmond has officially embraced the Christmas spirit, kicking off the season with a magical evening of festivities.
George Street was transformed into a hub of holiday cheer, with Ice Queens, Candy Canes, Clockwork Ballerinas, and Nutcracker characters bringing joy to families and visitors.
Riverside Radio set the scene with live broadcasts and performances, including an amazing rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas by Skylarks, a local charity supporting children with additional needs.
The festivities continued with the Rock Choir lifting spirits through their stunning harmonies, paving the way for the stars of Richmond Theatre’s pantomime, Beauty and the Beast. Hope Dawe (Belle) and Cherece Richards (The Enchantress) delighted the crowd with a medley of Christmas tunes, adding a theatrical sparkle to the evening.
The highlight of the night was the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames switching on the Christmas lights. The grand 26ft Christmas tree, sponsored by Sticks n’ Sushi, Moore Barlow Lawyers, and Foot Solutions, now serves as a glittering focal point for the season.
