Robinhood pops-up in Waterloo station – unveiling new desktop trading platform, Robinhood Legend

Robinhood UK has installed its first ever trading pop-up in Waterloo station, marking the launch of its new desktop platform, Robinhood Legend. This activation was launched in collaboration with Cboe Global Markets (‘Cboe’), whose suite of proprietary index options were recently made available to Robinhood’s UK customers and are among some of the world’s most popular and actively traded options products.

Located in London Waterloo station, the pop-up will be based within a clear 5x5m cube structure, housing 6 monitors displaying Robinhood Legend, a fully customisable desktop trading platform designed specifically for active traders. Using Robinhood Legend, customers can keep a pulse on the market with real time data from 5+ exchanges, including Cboe, updating at sub-second intervals, as well as custom intervals by the day, hour, minute, second, and all the way down to the tick.

Inside the cube, two traders will be demonstrating this powerful technology – live-trading throughout the day as they are watched by the public. Already immensely popular in the US, Robinhood Legend is now available at no additional cost to anyone in the UK with a Robinhood account.

Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood UK, said “Robinhood Legend gives UK investors the speed, precision, and customisation they need to stay ahead of the curve — with a platform that’s powerful, intuitive, beautifully designed, and free. It’s the new standard for modern trading in the UK, and still only the beginning of what we’re building here.”

Robinhood launched in the UK in 2023, recognising the opportunity to reduce some of the barriers to investing and support customers who felt underserved by the existing market offering. Robinhood offers unique, innovative features such as trading on 6,000 US-listed stocks and ADRs (fractional and whole shares) – with no FX fees on trades. It also allows UK customers to trade certain securities 24 hours a day, five days a week and offers stock lending, margin investing and options trading.

Catherine Clay, Cboe’s Global Head of Derivatives, said: “Retail traders in the US are increasingly recognising the value of Cboe’s index options products for risk management and income generation. With the support of brokers such as Robinhood, we believe these products can become a key part of the retail trader’s toolkit in the UK – and we were delighted to collaborate with them on this innovative marketing campaign in London.”

The activation aims to bring trading closer to the public – showcasing the power of Robinhood Legend. With Waterloo Station’s high footfall and central location, the event is expected to reach a broad audience of professionals, commuters and both active and passive investors.
