Sainsbury’s Bank is launching a unique initiative to help people prepare for dog ownership. The new Pre-Puppy Project will offer puppy preparation classes led by animal experts.
The event, taking place in Holborn on February 6, will be led by renowned TV vet expert Dr Bolu Eso and Clinical Animal Behaviourist Jade Nicholas. People can sign up for the class here.
Sainsbury’s Bank Pet Insurance, provided by Pinnacle Insurance plc, has designed the Pre-Puppy Project to offer invaluable insights to promote responsible pet ownership and support new paw-rents. This new event follows the launch of its Paws and Playtime report1, which surveyed 1,000 UK parents and 1,000 dog paw-rents to explore the similarities and differences between parenting roles.
The Pre-Puppy Project classes will cover essential topics such as:
· Puppy training basics
· Nutrition and healthcare
· Dog behaviour and communication
· Creating a safe and enriching environment
“Preparing for a puppy is essentially preparing for a new family addition – it requires research, planning and a lot of love,” says Dr. Bolu Eso, TV vet expert. “The Pre-Puppy Project provides the essential tools and knowledge to ensure a happy and healthy start for both the dog and owner.”
“We know that the new year can be a time when many people consider bringing a dog into their lives,” said Vicky Yuill, Head of Insurance at Sainsbury’s Bank.
“New pet owners must be fully prepared for the commitment of dog ownership, and our research1 has shown that unexpected expenses and pet health are all key challenges paw-rents face.
“Our ‘Pre-Puppy Project’ will equip them with the knowledge and resources they need to create a loving home for their furry friend. Participants will also receive a complimentary pet hamper filled with goodies to help them get started on their pet parenting journey.”
Sainsbury’s Bank are looking for participants on the journey to dog ownership, who need some guidance on where to start with their new addition to the family. Much like they would if they were to take part in antenatal classes. The Pre-Puppy Project classes will be held in Holborn, London, on February 6 at 4pm. Spaces at the event are limited, so participants are encouraged to sign-up quickly via the registration page here to secure a space.
