National bone and soft tissue cancer charity Sarcoma UK held a celebratory drinks reception and silent auction at London’s Mansion House last week (Tuesday 18 October 2022).

The reception was held to honour the charity’s long-term corporate partner, The Analyst, whom this year will have donated £1 million cumulatively, and is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. To say thank you, Sarcoma UK requested the help of the Lord Mayor of the City of London.

The Analyst, founded by Mark Hiley and Jonathan Scriven, is an independent financial research firm that works with professional clients, providing equity investment ideas that can at least double or halve. Based in Clapham and started as a blog in 2010, The Analyst has partnered with Sarcoma UK since 2012.

Every year, The Analyst gives Sarcoma UK a percentage of their profits that would have gone to co-founder Jonathan Scriven. The commitment to the charity has now evolved beyond the generous funding support, as the two organisations have grown together.

Jonny sadly died from PNET (Primitive neuroectodermal tumour), a rare form of sarcoma, in 2011.

The Analyst’s donations have been ringfenced for Sarcoma UK’s expanding research programme, which supports the strongest scientific ideas and minds to make diagnosis more accurate, develop new and better treatments, and improve outcomes for sarcoma patients.

Some of the key attendees and speakers on the night included The Analyst co-founder Mark Hiley, Sarcoma UK CEO Richard Davidson, medical oncologist and researcher Dr Sandra Strauss, Scottish National Party MP for Motherwell and Wishaw Marion Fellows, and Lord Mayor of London The Rt Hon Vincent Keaveny.

These guests and others all united on the evening of Tuesday 18 October to celebrate 10 years of The Analyst and the organisation’s incredible charitable efforts over the last decade for Sarcoma UK.
