The Savile Row tailoring houses together with partners and car manufacturers, will be showcasing a range of collaborations and events with some highlights below:
Huntsman and Hagerty will present a never-before-seen exhibition from the private collection of Charlie Watts. A devoted Huntsman customer, the late Rolling Stones drummer owned over 200 suits made by the iconic Savile Row bespoke tailoring house. This display will include Huntsman tailoring from his personal collection, alongside his beautiful 1937 Lagonda LG45 Rapide, and a panel discussion celebrating his two passions; bespoke tailoring and classic cars, hosted by Huntsman and Paul Sexton, his official biographer.
Luxury cloth merchant and cloth weaver Holland & Sherry partners this year with Austin Pedal Cars to present an exclusive Austin J40 Continuation Holland & Sherry Edition pedal car. Designed and built exclusively for the 2024 Concours on Savile Row, this diminutive Austin features a Holland & Sherry interior using a cloth especially designed for the very special, one-off machine. The exciting collaboration demonstrates how the finest Savile Row cloth can enhance the elegance of a classic car.
Norton & Sons will be showcasing PPE101 (a Jaguar XK120) alongside a racing kit they’ve designed and made for the car’s participation in the Mille Miglia 2024. In 2021, current owner, Simon Tasker, acquired the car and discovered that it holds a pivotal piece of Norton & Sons 200-year history. PPE was owned and raced by Walter Grant-Norton, great-grandson to the founder of Norton & Sons.
Other highlights include Gieves & Hawkes who will display the fuselage of Spitfire PR.IV AA810; Bennett Winch will present David Gandy’s Jaguar X120; and J.P. Hackett will have a Formula E simulator along with showcasing new collections and a whiskey tasting with Jenson Button’s Whisky brand, Coachbuilt.
CALLUM is partnering with Edward Sexton and Concours on Savile Row is proud to host the unveiling and first public appearance of the CALLUM Skye.
Also, expect exciting car displays such as Touring Superleggera Arese, Lotus Evija, Everrati Porsche 964, Audi Q8 E-tron and a selection of some of the finest cars from private collections around the world, including a Ferrari 500 TR Spider, MG No. 1, Koenigsegg 2024 Jesko and Ferrari 250 SWB California.
Jenny Casebourne, Head of Portfolio at The Pollen Estate, added: “The Pollen Estate is delighted that Concours on Savile Row will be returning for a third year. Savile Row is London’s iconic destination renowned for tailoring, craftsmanship and style. We are excited to see the new collaborations and the synergies with the car manufacturers come to life. The event is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to go inside the tailoring houses and meet the individual tailors, as well as experience the expertise and craft behind a bespoke suit first-hand. Concours on Savile Row is a great addition to London’s events calendar and will showcase the very best of British tailoring to a global audience.”
Over the course of the two days, the main stage situated on Savile Row will host a series of free talks and interviews with celebrities, tailors and industry experts discussing a range of topics. There will also be two panel talks held at the Royal Academy of Arts and a photography exhibition by Lara Platman at Savile Row’s coffee shop and lifestyle space The Service. All are open to the public and are free to attend. The full schedule will be announced in due course.
This year the Hagerty Youth Judging is back in partnership with Westminster City Lions, a project set up by Westminster City Council to provide young people in the borough with cultural, educational and career-inspiring opportunities they may not normally get to experience. For the third year, a group of City Lions will join a programme to judge a car at Concours, as well as learn about Savile Row tailoring house, Maurice Sedwell, who will demonstrate the tailoring skills required to create a bespoke Savile Row suit.
Geoff Love, UK Managing Director of Event Organiser Hothouse Media, said: “With just a few weeks to go, we are very excited for the 2024 edition of the Concours on Savile Row. As a celebration of craftsmanship and the very best of tailoring and bespoke car design, there is nothing quite like it. Stunning cars, talks on the central stage, a seminar programme and the doors of some of the best tailors in the world open for all to take a look inside, and all available for no entrance fee. We are indebted to the tailors, the manufacturers and the sponsors for enabling this to happen in the centre of London.”
