SAVOUR THE SUMMER SEASON AT WOOLWICH WORKS – FOUR FOODIE FESTIVALS FOR CURIOUS PALATES AND CULTURE LOVERS

From sizzling BBQ pits and sun-drenched jerk feasts to allergen-free
indulgence and global grill mastery, Woolwich Works is the place to be for food lovers this summer and autumn. Across four deliciously distinctive weekends, the South East London venue hosts a series of vibrant food festivals celebrating culture, flavour
and community — each one packed with irresistible eats, good vibes and memorable culinary experiences.

First up is the hugely popular Free
From Festival (24–25 May), the UK’s original festival
for gluten, dairy and refined sugar-free food and drink. Whether you’re coeliac, plant-based or simply curious about making changes to your diet, this is your chance to sample pioneering brands from across the country, discover new favourites, and enjoy expert
talks and demos on gut health, wellness and allergen-aware eating. Expect gourmet bakes, artisan cheeses, craft spirits and more – all made without compromise and to the highest standards.

Next, fire up your appetite for the FUME
Festival – Summer Edition (30 May–1 June), a no-holds-barred
celebration of smoke, spice and supreme BBQ culture. Over three days, the UK’s top pitmasters will take over Woolwich Works’ stunning courtyard with slow-smoked ribs, brisket, wings and internationally-inspired grill techniques. Strictly 18+, the festival
is all about bold flavours, banging tunes, craft drinks, and big summer energy.

In July,
The Original  Jerk Cook Out  (26–27 July) brings the spice of Jamaican food and culture to Woolwich. A family-friendly feast for the senses, the event blends sizzling jerk BBQ with live music, dance, kids’ activities and a whole lot of Caribbean soul.
Highlights include succulent and fiery jerk chicken, delicious vegan and veggie alternatives, plus top UK chefs serving up African Caribbean street food with creative flair. The event is produced by writer, curator and long-time Woolwich Works Tony Fairweather
(The Windrush Front Room exhibition).

Finally, the FUME
Festival – Autumn Edition (26–28 September) returns
to stoke the flames once again. This edition promises the same high-quality line-up of international pitmasters as its summer sibling — with even more smoke, technique and surprises. Across five sessions, guests can graze, sip and savour their way through
a curated BBQ journey, making it the perfect way to close the foodie season.
