School of Rock, the global leader in performance-based music education, will take a major milestone in its UK expansion with its first-ever student concert on Saturday, February 1, at CIRCUIT Kingston. The day-long event marks the first time School of Rock students in the United Kingdom will perform live on stage, bringing the brand’s internationally recognised music education model to a UK audience.
Founded in 1998, School of Rock has grown into a global movement with more than 430 schools across 17 countries, teaching over 70,000 students worldwide through its patented, performance-based approach. While the brand has spent nearly three decades expanding internationally, its arrival in the UK, with its flagship school in Twickenham, London, represents a significant cultural moment, placing School of Rock in the heart of the country that helped shape modern rock music.
The concert will take place at CIRCUIT Kingston, a landmark live music venue in South West London that rebranded in July 2025 after operating for years as PRYZYM Kingston. The venue has hosted performances from a wide range of influential artists, including The Who, Robert Plant, Rod Stewart, and Billie Eilish. Hosting School of Rock UK’s first student show at CIRCUIT places the school’s debut performance within a venue closely tied to the area’s live music history.
The Kingston concert will feature performances from both Rock 101 students (ages 8–12) and Performance Programme students (ages 13–18). The show will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rock 101 performances, followed by the Performance Programme beginning at 2:00 p.m., and will run through 8:00 p.m. Media attendance is welcome throughout the day.
Access to the event is free and open to invited family and friends, with additional limited capacity available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective and trial students are encouraged to attend to experience School of Rock’s performance-based model firsthand.
The first UK show will be themed around The Beatles, with students performing music drawn from the band’s catalogue. The programme introduces audiences to School of Rock’s performance-based approach through one of the most influential bodies of work in modern music, interpreted and performed by the next generation of musicians.
“Seeing our students take the stage for the first time in the UK is a huge milestone for School of Rock,” said Matías Puga Hamilton, Master Franchisee for School of Rock UK and Latin America. “Live performance is central to how our programmes work. It brings together musicianship, discipline, teamwork, and confidence in a real-world setting, and it’s exciting to introduce that experience to UK audiences.”

Unlike traditional music education models, School of Rock’s approach centres on weekly one-on-one lessons, group rehearsals, and real live performances, giving students a clear goal and a reason to practice. Programmes are designed to be immersive and inclusive, challenging the notion that music education is only for the naturally gifted and opening the door for students of all skill levels to participate meaningfully.
Beyond musical development, School of Rock has demonstrated measurable impact on students’ confidence, teamwork, resilience, and overall wellbeing. Independent research shows that participation positively affects multiple areas of personal development that contribute to long-term happiness and mental health.
