Donations deliveries kicked off on 15 September, and the initial run has been extended for two weeks till 12 October. People then have a 30 day period to get their donations to Evri.
Scope is calling out for the public to donate pre-loved items via one of Evri’s 10,000 plus ParcelShops.
People can donate at a time and place that’s convenient to them and comes at no cost, with Evri picking up the tab of deliveries.
Donations are the lifeblood of charity shops. The money they raise helps charities to continue work and customers love nothing more than finding one-off pieces of clothing or bric-a-brac.
Evri, the UK’s largest parcel delivery company has been helping the disability equality charity Scope, to generate more donations for their shops.
Since the rise of online shopping platforms, charity shops have seen a decrease in the number of quality donations. It’s understandable that people need to fill holes in their budgets since the cost of living crisis began and sell items online.
New research from disability equality charity Scope shows:
in 2024, 14% (one in seven) of people said they had sold five or more items online and a further 15% (one in seven said they had sold five or fewer items
In 2025, the figure increased to 23% (two in nine) of people have sold five or more items online and a further 15% (one in seven) had sold five or fewer items online
The research encouragingly went on to show:
in 2025, 68% (two in three) of people who sell online, said they would consider donating one item to a charity shop while selling other items
this is up from 57% (four in seven) when polled in 2024
Donating is quick and easy:
1. Visit Evri.com/Scope to create your free parcel label
2. Package your item using Evri’s packaging guidance
3. Print a label either at home or at the ParcelShop or Locker and drop off the parcel at any of Evri’s 10,000 locations.
Donated items will then be sorted by a team of Evri volunteers and sent on to Scope shops where they’ll be sold to raise funds to continue Scope’s vital work.
Donations help raise funds for Scope to support disabled people and their families. There are 16 million disabled people in the UK and Scope’s free helpline is a lifeline giving guidance, advice and emotional support. Every pound raised funds a minute on Scope’s free helpline. With the average call costing £15, every donation helps.
Evri’s partnership with Scope reflects its ambition to become the most accessible parcel delivery company in the UK. Since launching the partnership, Evri has already helped raise £150,000 for Scope and introduced accessibility preferences for consumers – such as requesting more time to get to the door.
Ros Hunt, Director of Ecommerce at Evri, said: “We’re delighted to be extending this trial with Scope’s charity shops. We’ve been encouraged by the number of donations that are increasingly coming in via our returns service that we made free, for Scope’s supporters. Our recent research shows there’s a growing appetite for people to consider donating one item, whilst selling others. I encourage everyone to who is selling their clothing or homeware online to think about saving at least one item aside, for Scope. Our service is free and will run until 12 October and once you’ve printed your label off, you’ll have 30 days to get your parcel into a ParcelShop of Locker.”
