Kelly O’Neill, Director of Public Health, London Borough of Hounslow said:
“Our Public Health team are pleased to continue working with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as our main provider of integrated sexual health services in Hounslow. We’re excited that the launch of the Sky Clinic will further contribute to the sexual and reproductive health of our community. It is important that all residents, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression have access to safe and confidential sexual health services where they can access high quality care from specialist health professionals”
Adam Gray, Divisional Director of Operations for Specialist Care, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust said:
“As the leading provider of sexual health services in London, we continuously review our services to ensure they meet the needs of the local community they serve. The Sky Clinic is an exciting new development that will improve access to care and will offer a safe, confidential space for men who have sex with men and trans women to discuss their sexual health, with the support of our specialist and dedicated staff.”
The launch of the Sky Clinic is a continuation of SHH’s commitment to reducing health inequalities in the borough of Hounslow. This follows the introduction of a new integrated sexual health service with GP practices and community pharmacies earlier in the year. The new integrated service aims to improve access to sexual health care for local residents; with 21 pharmacies offering free Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) for all ages, as well as free condoms via The C-Card Scheme and chlamydia screening for those under 25 years old.
