The Stage Shoreditch has unveiled a free outdoor art exhibition. Visitors can explore creative window displays inspired by Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, titled ‘The Stage Is Set: Winter’s Ethereal Glow’, in partnership with Global Street Art.

The Stage is built on the site of the once-famous Curtain Theatre, renowned as one of the earliest playhouses in London and a key venue where Shakespeare’s plays were first performed. Its unique role in the development of English theatre cemented its place in history. The window installations at The Stage now bring Shakespeare’s timeless world to life, creating a modern connection to the past.

The series of three window displays immerse visitors in Shakespeare’s imagination, offering a free outdoor art exhibition for all to enjoy until early 2025.

Each window provides a unique and creative interpretation of the source material, with the sets reflecting the play’s themes of time, change, and renewal, inviting reflection on the power of redemption and healing during the New Year.

The windows celebrate culture, creativity, and free public art in the heart of vibrant Shoreditch.
