Shield Pest Control is inviting the local community to take part in a charity quiz night on Monday 16th March 2026, raising funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, one of the company’s chosen charities for 2026.
The charity quiz will take place at the Honor Oak Pub, with the evening beginning at 6pm, giving guests the chance to mingle and enjoy a drink before the general knowledge quiz, hosted by popular local quiz master Alex, begins at 7pm.
Alongside the quiz, guests will enjoy live music during the interval from local singing duo Heart & Soul, as well as a charity raffle, with all proceeds going to the hospice. The evening will conclude at 9pm, with guests welcome to continue socialising downstairs afterwards.
Entry to the quiz is £10 per person, with raffle tickets priced at £1 each, or 15 tickets available for £10 as part of a charity bundle. A card reader will be available on the night to take admission payments and additional donations. At Shield Pest Control, supporting local charities is a key part of the company’s community commitment. Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice holds a particularly special place for the team, not only because of the vital work the charity does supporting people facing terminal illness, but also because some members of the Shield team have personal experience of the hospice’s care and support.
In addition to fundraising, Shield Pest Control also supports the organisation through its services, carrying out routine pest control at the Abbey Wood hospice site and several of the charity’s retail shops.
The hospice’s mission is clear: “We want everyone in our wonderfully diverse community to be able to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle. Whether that’s through pain management, care at home, rehab support, pastoral services or end-of-life care at the hospice, we’re on hand to help anyone with a terminal illness, their loved ones and their carers with free support, care and advice at any time of day or night.”
