Sarah Jones MP, recently re-elected to represent Croydon West, visited Siemens Mobility’s Croydon facility on Friday 1 November. The visit provided an opportunity to gain an insight into the company’s commitment to innovation in rail infrastructure, contribution to regional economic development and investment in entry-level talent.

During her visit, Ms. Jones received a tour by Joint CEO and Managing Director for Rail Infrastructure, Rob Morris, where she learnt more about the operations delivered from the Croydon facility. Key insights included the facility’s work on interlocking systems, workstations and trackside infrastructure as well as communications and networks. Ms Jones also experienced a hands-on demonstration of the Westcad Simulator, Siemens Mobility’s cutting-edge visual display-based workstation used for training railway signallers.

Sarah Jones MP, Croydon West said “It was a pleasure to visit Siemens Mobility and see first-hand the role Croydon is playing in delivering the next generation digital signalling systems. I was thrilled to learn more about Siemens Mobility’s investment in local talent and glad I had the opportunity to meet some of the local graduates and apprentices during my visit.”
