The latest round of Sir Robert McAlpine Strong Foundation Grants is now live via the ActionFunder platform and open to organisations until mid October 2025, supporting grassroots initiatives and charitable causes.

A wide range of organisations are eligible to apply, including informal and formal community groups, local charity and local branches of national charities, schools and education organisations, not-for-profit organisations, and social enterprises.

Individual grants between £1,000 and £4,500 are currently available in areas close to where Sir Robert McAlpine is delivering projects in London and Manchester.

The current project locations are:
London Museum
Project Picnic, London
Therme Manchester
2 Finsbury Avenue, London
Tolworth Hospital, London
Millennium Building, London
The grants aim to provide the financial backing and support needed to turn ideas into action, strengthen existing projects, and foster a sense of community empowerment.

Submissions are open through the ActionFunder platform until 9th October, with the exception of London Museum and Project Picnic, which close on 15th October. These will then be assessed for impact, innovation and alignment with the company’s values by a judging panel made up of project team members and clients’ representatives.

These latest grants build on Sir Robert McAlpine’s partnership with ActionFunder, which started in 2021 and has helped to deliver support directly to the heart of the communities that most need it.

Over the last four years, Sir Robert McAlpine has funded 161 projects supporting more than 132,000 people with a total of nearly £400,000 distributed. Funding has been awarded to a diverse range of projects, from upskilling coaches at a women and girls’ cricket club in the South West to supporting digital inclusion initiatives for older people in London.

Anjana Raj, Company Social Value Manager at Sir Robert McAlpine, said: “Our partnership with ActionFunder is essential to ensuring our support goes straight to the communities and organisations who need it most. The next round of grants will help us realise our aspirations to leave a positive legacy on the communities we work in.”
