SKATING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND: LONDON’S LONGEST RUNNING SEASONAL ICE RINK RETURNS TO CANARY WHARF THIS OCTOBER

0

London’s longest running seasonal ice rink, Ice Rink Canary Wharf, returns this October, offering visitors a magical ice-skating experience under the Wharf’s twinkling lights.

Open to the public from Saturday 26th October right up until Sunday 23rd February, Canada Square Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland with an 875 sqm ice rink right at the epicentre.

The extended season of the ice rink allows skaters to enjoy time on the ice throughout Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day – perfect for those planning a romantic date night, catching up with friends, or organising a seasonal work night out.

Returning this year is the ice rink’s transparent roof, complete with a sparkling disco ball, to ensure that winter weather needn’t stop visitors getting their skates on.

Skaters and spectators looking to warm up post session can enjoy food and drinks in the stunning Oasis Bar and Terrace next door to the ice rink. New to the neighbourhood this year, Oasis Bar and Terrace offers a unique escape from the city’s hustle and bustle with a rooftop viewing deck of the rink so visitors can watch all the on-ice action unfold.

Ice Rink Canary Wharf will also be bringing back its popular schools’ programme, offering hundreds of children from local schools in the Borough of Tower Hamlets the chance to hit the ice for free on some of the weekday mornings throughout the season. Head teachers can apply for a place on the school’s programmes by emailing [email protected].

Canary Wharf’s free app has all the latest on upcoming events, discounts and offers, where visitors, workers and residents can stay up to date on the happenings around the neighbourhood. Skaters will also benefit from many additional retail offers to help them get the best out of the Canary Wharf experience, with details on these found here: https://icerinkcanarywharf.co.uk/.

Located in the heart of Canary Wharf, the ice rink is surrounded by over 300 restaurants, bars, and stores across five shopping malls – a one-stop-shop for an unmissable winter day out. Whether visitors are looking for an afterwork activity and drink, or a day out at the Wharf over the weekend, Canary Wharf has something for everyone to enjoy this winter, both on and off the ice.

Ice Rink Canary Wharf will be open every day between Saturday 26th October 2024 and Sunday 23rd February 2025, except for Christmas day, and welcomes skaters from the age of 4 and all abilities on the ice. For younger visitors, the ice rink offers penguin skate aids (for children up to 1.2m in height with skates on) and snowman skate aids (for those up to 1.5m with skates on). The ice rink is also fully equipped to accommodate wheelchair users – simply book a ticket as normal on the website and request a complimentary carer ticket using the contact form.
