Sleepover with the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum

If you thought sleepovers were just consigned to childhood memory, think again. This summer, the Natural History Museum is running Dino Snores for Grown Ups – its enthralling sleepover event for adults only.

Whether you’re after a unique solo date immersing yourself in the wonder of the natural world, or creating memories with friends to last a lifetime, dozing alongside the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum will absolutely deliver.

The adults-only event, with only just over 300 tickets available, is also the perfect opportunity to meander through the Museum’s galleries and exhibitions with a drink in hand, away from the hustle and bustle of the daytime crowds.
Arrive sleeping bag and toothbrush in hand, dinosaur onesie optional.

After guests have made themselves at home inside the gorgeous Hintze Hall and snagged their welcome drink, the night entails a three-course dinner alongside an enchanting programme of activities.

Get competitive at Dino Bingo and see if the stand-up comedy gets the crowd cackling like hyenas. Hear first-hand from the Museum’s expert scientists as they delve into their favourite topics such as sharks and dinosaurs. Settle down for a late-night movie marathon – fitting classics such as Jurassic Park and Night at the Museum will usually be somewhere on the bill.

Night complete, drift off to sleep beneath the watchful gaze of Hope the blue whale and alongside the occupants of Hintze Hall’s Wonder Bays – from the mastodon (an ancient elephant-like creature) to the Mantellisaurus (the most complete dinosaur ever discovered in the UK).
The wonder doesn’t end once you wake up. Cooked breakfast is on offer, as is a morning yoga session in the soft sunlight streaming into Hintze Hall. Continue your exploration of the Museum at your own pace, before the daytime visitors descend.

Entry to select Museum exhibitions, which are usually paid-for, is also included in the sleepover ticket price. Currently, the Museum’s new out-of-this-world exhibition, Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth? couldn’t be more perfect for a night-time viewing.

Complimentary tea and coffee will be served from 21.00-02.30 and 7.00-9.30. Additional drinks and nibbles can also be purchased from the onsite bars until 00.45.
Tickets for Dino Snores for Grown Ups are now on sale across various dates. Tickets cost £220, or £198 for Members. The event is for ages 18+ only and doors will open at 18:30.
