Global, the Media & Entertainment group, today (Monday 30th March) announced that musician, presenter and former So Solid Crew member Lisa Maffia is joining Capital XTRA, home to the biggest Hip Hop and RnB tunes.
Following the success of her New Year’s Day Fully Reloaded takeover show, Lisa joins Capital XTRA to present Sunday afternoons between 12:00pm – 4:00pm, with her first show airing on Sunday 5th April as part of Capital XTRA’s Fully Reloaded takeover over the Easter weekend.
First rising to fame in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s with UK Rap collective So Solid Crew, Lisa is behind some of the most influential and popular Garage and Hip Hop tracks of the era, including ‘They Don’t Know,’ ‘Oh No’ and the iconic ‘21 Seconds.’ After departing the group in 2003, Lisa went on to release her debut solo album, First Lady, before turning to presenting, modelling, and fashion with the launch of her fashion boutique House of Maffia in 2012.
A friend of the station, Lisa appeared as a guest on the station several times before kicking off 2026 by presenting a special Fully Reloaded takeover on New Year’s Day. Now, Lisa joins the station permanently, starting by presenting her regular Sunday afternoon show as part of Capital XTRA’s Fully Reloaded Easter weekend takeover alongside guest presenters Craig David, Tinie Tempah, and Lethal Bizzle.
Each week in her new Sunday afternoon slot – broadcast live across both Capital XTRA and Capital XTRA Reloaded – Lisa throws it back to the late ‘90s and early ’00s with infectious energy, serving up the biggest Old Skool Hip Hop and R&B alongside her ultimate mix of nostalgic ‘90s and ’00s classics.
