Families visiting Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex this Easter are invited to roll up their sleeves and get baking as the centre launches The Great Lakeside Bake-Off: a fun, chocolate-filled workshop where young chefs can whisk, mix and decorate their own delicious Easter treat.
Taking place from Monday 30th March to Thursday 2nd April, the lively, baking competition–inspired experience will transform the Central Atrium at Lakeside into a colourful show-style kitchen where budding bakers can step into the spotlight.
Hosted in 30-minute sessions throughout the day from 11am to 4pm, children will follow simple step-by-step instructions from energetic workshop hosts to create their own chocolate Easter treat, topped with sprinkles and chocolate chips. Once their creation is complete, each mini baker will present their masterpiece at the judging counter, where playful commentary and big reactions ensure every child feels like a star of the show. To enjoy The Great Lakeside Bake-Off, head to Lakeside’s Central Atrium, where the experience is available on a first come, first served basis – so be sure to arrive early and join the fun to avoid disappointment.
Suitable for children up to 11 years – but ideal for any baking enthusiasts – little chefs will also look the part, donning paper chef hats and bright red aprons, while using real kitchenware provided by ProCook, including mixing bowls and preparation tools used throughout the workshop.
Styled in a bold red, white and blue Bake-Off theme, complete with a branded entrance arch, bunting and a dedicated workshop area, the activation is designed to be vibrant, theatrical and packed with photo-worthy moments for families to capture and share. Each day will host a series of timed sessions, with space for up to 144 children to take part daily, giving plenty of young bakers the chance to show off their skills.
Families can also expect baking equipment displays from Pro Cook, alongside exclusive Hotel Chocolat sampling opportunities, giving parents the chance to sip some delicious drinking chocolate whilst the little ones play.
