One of the most powerful and influential voices in modern music returns to London this spring as Jocelyn Brown takes the stage at the historic Hackney Empire on April 24, 2026, presenting an evening of enduring classic songs that helped define contemporary soul and dance music.

Backed by a full live band and joined by an array of special guests, Jocelyn Brown will draw on a catalogue of landmark recordings that includes the 1984 chart-topper “Somebody Else’s Guy”, seminal 1985 recording “Love’s Gonna Get You” – which has been sampled in more than 80 tracks – Incognito’s “Always There”, the 1994 smash hit duet with Kym Mazelle “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough), and Todd Terry’s “Something Goin’ On (In Your Soul)” and “Keep On Jumpin” – a US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart number one.

A hugely in-demand vocalist, Jocelyn Brown has collaborated with legends including Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, George Benson, and Roberta Flack while early work with Kleer and The Salsoul Orchestra placed her voice at the heart of some of disco and rare groove’s most enduring recordings.

Born into a deeply musical family, Jocelyn Brown was inspired by her aunt Barbara Roy of the vocal group EPP. Beginning as a gospel soloist in Brooklyn church choirs, she moved into disco and soul, establishing a career that would become one of the most respected and enduring in modern music.

This performance marks Jocelyn Brown’s first London appearance since a sold-out residency at The Jazz Café, reaffirming a legacy that continues to resonate across generations of artists and audiences alike.
