Yesterday, South Lodge Care Home marked their 15th anniversary, celebrating over a decade and a half of providing exceptional care and accommodation to residents in Leicester and the surrounding areas.
Since opening in January 2010, South Lodge Care Home has become a trusted name in the community. It offers a warm, welcoming environment on four floors.
The care home accommodates 96 residents, providing a range of services, including residential, respite and dementia care.
Residents are offered a variety of living options, including studios, garden rooms, and apartments with kitchenette and lounge facilities, ensuring comfort and independence.
“Our team works hard every day to make South Lodge Care Home feel like a true home for our residents,” said Donna Bradley, Home Manager of South Lodge Care Home.
“We are incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved over the last 15 years and grateful for the ongoing support from our staff, residents, and their families.”
The anniversary event was a memorable occasion, with staff, residents, and families gathering to mark the milestone.
The celebrations included our chef and his team providing celebration cakes for each floor for residents and staff to share, followed by a glass of fizz to toast the occasion and live music from our regular performer, Lesley Anne.
Donna Bradley also took the opportunity to thank long-serving staff and residents for their continued loyalty. Presenting them with flowers and commemorative gifts to mark the occasion.
“We’ve always believed that South Lodge Care Home is more than just a care home; it’s a community,” Donna Bradley continued.
“The trust and support of families, both past and present, has been fundamental to our success.”
Olwynne, who has called South Lodge home for the past 10 years, shared their reflections on the home’s journey and their experiences since they first moved in.
“Our mother has been a resident at South Lodge since 2015. We liked the place from our first visit because it is friendly and lively, and because the care given is always tailored to the person. Our mother has always been treated with great kindness and real respect for her individual needs and tastes. The staff are totally dedicated to creating a warm and secure environment, and to ensuring that every resident is as comfortable, safe and happy as possible. – Sarah Tarlow, daughter of Olwynne.
Diane, who has also called South Lodge home for the past 11 years, shared her thoughts with the home manager.
“I have been very happy here for so many years and well looked after” Diane said.
South Lodge Care Home is proud to have earned a “Good” rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their published report in August 2024, further cementing its commitment to providing high-quality care in a safe and comfortable environment.
The care home offers a range of excellent amenities designed to enhance residents’ comfort and well-being. These include beautifully landscaped gardens, a spacious lounge area for socialising, and a dedicated activities room for arts and crafts, games, and events. The home also features a modern café where residents and visitors can enjoy light refreshments.
