Craig David is bringing the party home this November with an intimate one-off gig at Johnnies in Camberwell a South London favourite that’s been serving locals for more than 50 years. The UK garage and R&B star will perform his signature TS5 set and debut his new track “Every Neighbour Got Their Flava” live for the very first time, celebrating the community spirit and local legends that make neighbourhood spots like Johnnies so special.

The garage legend, who has been performing in Ibiza all summer, will be swapping the party island for the English capital on Thursday 13th November. Transforming restaurant counters into DJ decks, Craig will play his classic TS5 set and – for the very first time – the new viral Just Eat anthem “Every Neighbour Got Their Flava”. Heralded as a certified “banger” in comments on social media, the garage-inspired track celebrates the rich diversity of flavours and neighbourhoods across the UK and Ireland, showing how Just Eat serves different communities across the two nations.
Guests at the intimate show in Johnnies’ retro diner-style space can expect nostalgic garage vibes, refreshing drinks, tasty food, warm-up and closing DJ sets, as well as exclusive merch. The gig is anticipated to be popular, so Just Eat is urging fans to register their interest for tickets via Skiddle in advance to be notified when they go on sale on Wednesday 5th November.

The gig follows the recent announcement that Craig David is the first British talent to star in Just Eat’s iconic ‘Did Somebody Say’ ad, following in the footsteps of global stars Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and Latto. Blending his trademark smooth R&B vocals with the influence of UK garage, the song ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flava’ is a nod to Craig’s 2002 hit ‘What’s your Flava?’. The catchy track, which is available on Spotify, champions community, while highlighting the many needs and desires that Just Eat caters to.

The surprise gig announcement comes as new research by Just Eat reveals four in five (80%) Brits consider their local takeaway or convenience store as the backbone of their community, while almost a third (32%) even see the owners as part of their extended family. With one in four Brits having endearing nicknames such as “Boss”, “Bossman” and “Chief” for their favourite local takeaway or shop owner, Just Eat recognises these legends are important to the nation due to their presence and loyal service to their communities.

That’s why the spotlight is on family-run Johnnies Cafe as 62% of Brits wish they could give back to their local takeaway legend. Just Eat is celebrating a pillar of the community with an epic party where regulars and even those new to Johnnies can show their appreciation for this local hero.
As one of over 60,000 local choices on Just Eat, Johnnies’ Cafe has been serving the community in and around Camberwell for the last five decades. Open 7-days a week, even setting up this exclusive gig, Johnnies will remain open to serve its regulars during the pre-11am breakfast rush.

For the last 20 years, Sonny, the owner’s son, has been at the helm, keeping Johnnies running just as it always has: honest food, fair prices, and a warm welcome. From construction workers to King’s College Hospital employees, university students and families, these hungry locals enjoy tucking into Johnnies’ popular dishes from hearty breakfasts to tasty Turkish kebabs and indulgent milkshakes.

Claire Pointon, Managing Director UK&I at Just Eat, said: “Our research is clear: local bosses are the backbone of our communities. This event celebrates Just Eat local legend Johnnies, a family-run Camberwell institution who has been serving its neighbourhood proudly for half a century. From local gems like this to thousands of restaurant partners and retailers across the country, we are proud to deliver for every occasion and serve every corner of the nation.”

Craig David, UK garage legend and new face of Just Eat, said: “Iʼm gassed for this one. It’s going to be such a vibe performing my TS5 set at Johnnies Cafe & playing my Just Eat track ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flavaʼ live for the first time.”
