Christmas is well and truly underway at Southside Shopping Centre, as it reveals a heartwarming line up of festive activities taking place this month.
The annual Wandsworth Town Christmas Festival, run by Wandsworth Town BID will take place at Southside Shopping Centre on Saturday 6th December. The event will be filled with festive fun, where visitors can enjoy captivating live performances throughout the centre, as well as have the chance to win some Christmas-themed prizes. From 5pm, guests will be invited to gather at the centre’s piazza to watch the Christmas tree illuminate during a special light switch on.
Adding to the festive magic, Southside Shopping Centre’s Santa’s Grotto is now officially open. Guests can meet the jolly man in red, share their Christmas wishes and capture a keepsake photo with Santa until 24th December. To ensure the magic lasts, every child will receive a specially chosen, age-appropriate gift from Santa himself.
The Grotto is located on the first floor of Southside Shopping Centre. Tickets are priced at £7.50 plus a booking fee* per child, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings can be made at: https://www.bookfatherchristmas.co.uk/Southside.
What’s more, the centre’s popular gift-wrapping service will be back from 19th December until 23rd December. Shoppers will be able to have their gifts perfectly wrapped ahead of the big day in return for a small donation to local charities, One Trust and Learn to Love to Read. The gift-wrapping station will be open from 1pm – 5pm each day and will be located outside Lidl.

The announcement of the return of Southside’s grotto and Wandsworth’s Christmas Festival follow the recent unveiling of Southside’s new Christmas decorations. The new decorations feature suspended sparkling tree chandeliers and giant baubles which bring a burst of colour down the malls. Two large Christmas trees, located outside of Waitrose and Poundland, boast elegant paper baubles and warm white lights, and twinkling light curtains featuring mini trees, baubles and mirror disks illuminate the Piazza entrance.
