Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth is calling on local charities in London to apply for the chance to receive funding from its Community Grants programme.

As part of the centre’s ongoing commitment to support the local community, empower local initiatives and foster positive change in the area, Southside Shopping Centre is offering financial support and resources to charities and organisations who address pressing social issues, promote community development and improve the lives of residents in the local area.

Unrestricted grants of up to £3,000 are available to support not-for-profit organisations with their daily activities to help accelerate their work within local communities.

The initiative is funded by Southside’s owner, Landsec, via its social impact programme, Landsec Futures, a £20m fund which aims to bring more value to the communities where Landsec invests.

Local charities in London are invited to apply for funding ahead of the deadline on 14th August 2023. Organisations can apply via Landsec’s website: https://landsec.com/futures.

Four funding rounds are available each year which will go towards those that make an impact in the local area and empowers the local community to make future-forward decisions. The shortlist is overseen by the Charities Aid Foundation and reviewed by community grants panels built from members local to London.

Within the past year, Southside Shopping Centre has already partnered with Diverse Leaders Network as part of the programme, supporting young people from underrepresented groups to master their leadership skills, grow in their knowledge of different industries and become part of a powerful community committed to realising their academic, leadership and career potential.

Pieter Strömbeck, Centre Director at Southside, said: “Landsec Futures allows us to partner with charities who are creating opportunities for local people and making a difference to their community.

“Our Community Grants programme seeks to support more people from underrepresented backgrounds into employment, working with local young people to build their employability skills and increase access to employment opportunities so that everyone can fulfil their potential.

“With the deadline for applications approaching, we urge all local charities to take this opportunity to apply and be in with a chance of increasing their funding so they can continue to make a significant and lasting impact on the community they serve.”
