SUMMER celebrations at this well-known high street opticians sparked the interest of passers-by and shoppers visiting The Centre in Feltham, South-West London at the weekend.
Following an investment of £200,000, Specsavers Feltham has undergone a significant transformation with its updated, stylised new frame displays, in-store lighting and wall mounts and enhanced floor space providing a more streamlined customer experience. Visitors were delighted to be invited in to browse the latest Specsavers range which has something for everyone, including this season’s chunky bold frames, cat eye designs and colourful oversized glasses, all set at affordable price points.
To mark this significant investment in the business and in celebration of 18 years in Feltham, the newly appointed Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Karen Smith was invited to officially re-launch the new-look store.
The Mayor was greeted by host, Samit Shah, ophthalmic director, who introduced Councillor Smith to the team. The Mayor was then given a tour of the newly modernised practice, which has four consulting rooms, with one dual room offering audiology services.
The Mayor of Hounslow officially cut the Specsavers green ribbon to mark the opening celebration and then mingled with guests and the store team.
Commenting on the store upgrade, Samit Shah says: ‘We’re thrilled the Mayor has been able to support us and be part of our store celebrations today.
‘We’ve been part of the Feltham community for over 18 years and our aim has always been to deliver the best clinical care and customer service. Something we look forward to continuing for many more years to come.’
Continuing, Mr Shah comments: ‘We have built up a loyal customer base. With the store upgrade, we’re delighted we can offer customers access to the latest diagnostic testing equipment, and the expertise of our staff, who are incredibly professional.

Specsavers Feltham offers customers access to state-of-the-art pre-room testing diagnostic equipment, including a visual fields analyser and OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) examination. The OCT, which is advanced diagnostic, eye-scanning equipment, helps detect serious eye conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, up to four years earlier than traditional methods, and is currently on offer at the reduced price of just £5.
The added benefit of the scan is that each customer’s OCT images can be stored, with any changes being observed over time – a real benefit to the monitoring of someone’s overall eye health.
Specsavers Feltham also provides enhanced clinical services to its community, including MECS (Minor Eye Condition Services) which helps to support local GP practices who refer patients to the store.
The dedicated audiology centre offers a soundproof booth for customers to have their hearing tested, coupled with the latest micro-suction equipment for wax removal.
In addition, there are four consulting rooms, dedicated diagnostic testing areas and specific contact lens stations offering enhanced facilities to customers. The store runs daily sight tests, contact lens and hearing clinics.
As part of Specsavers’ mission to make eye health accessible to all, Specsavers also offers a Home Visits service to those that can’t leave their homes unaccompanied, due to disability or illness.
