THIS Fulham opticians celebrated 21 years of bringing high-quality care to the community.
To mark the key milestone which kicked off during National Eye Health Week, the store team welcomed the Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, Councillor Sharon Holder and local children’s charity Solidarity Sports CEO, Sean Mendez, fundraising co-ordinator, Jasmine Khobiary and volunteer Joanna Morrison.
Raising awareness around the importance of having a sight test for old and young alike, the store team hosted a week long cake bake raising over £400 for the North End Road charity, whose aim is to nurture disadvantaged children via mentorship programmes, promoting health and wellbeing and engaging them via sport.
Ophthalmic director, Nimesh Modi and store partners, Mitul Mehta, ophthalmic director and Rupesh Shah, retail director, greeted the Mayor and gave her a tour of the store. As a customer of Specsavers Fulham, it provided extra special recognition to mark the anniversary.
Nimesh Modi said: ‘We’re so thrilled to be sharing our 21st birthday anniversary celebration with the Mayor, a long-standing customer, with Sean, Jasmine and Joanna from Solidarity Sports and our guests and colleagues from the wider London team.
‘We’re very proud of the hard work and commitment of our team in helping us to establish our reputation for delivering outstanding customer care and clinical expertise during the last 21 years. It is particularly special to be celebrating during National Eye Health Week which promotes the importance of good eye health for all.’
‘Our success is built on the support we give to our community and we’re looking forward to providing care across Fulham for many more years to come.’
To mark the occasion, the Mayor gave a short speech and cut the celebration anniversary cake. This was followed by a toast to many more years of providing the Fulham community with excellent healthcare services. After the formal celebrations had concluded, Councillor Holder had a sight test with Nimesh Modi.
During the course of the day, customers visiting the store also joined in the celebrations and were given special anniversary discount vouchers.
Commenting on the event, Solidarity Sports, fundraising co-ordinator, Jasmine said: ‘It’s wonderful to be part of the 21st birthday celebrations, and to have the support of Specsavers Fulham. We are truly grateful for the fundraising cake bake hosted this week. These generous contributions will directly benefit our children, going towards our upcoming October half term project, where they will enjoy fun and exciting trips around London.’
Customers of Specsavers Fulham can access the very latest state-of-the-art pre-room testing diagnostic equipment, including a visual fields analyser and OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) examination. The OCT, which is hospital grade advanced diagnostic, eye-scanning equipment, helps detect serious eye conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, up to four years earlier than traditional methods.
The added benefit of the scan is that each customer’s OCT images can be stored, with any changes being observed over time – a real benefit to the monitoring of someone’s overall eye health.
In addition, there are three test rooms, dedicated diagnostic testing areas and specific contact lens stations offering enhanced facilities to customers. The store operates 18 sight clinics a week, with three audiology clinics. Store opening times are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm and 10am to 5pm on a Sunday.
