Spitalfields E1 is welcoming a summer of sports by streaming most of the major sporting events on a big screen for free, including Wimbledon, the Olympics, Paralympics and cricket. The 188-inch screen located on Bishops Square invites viewers to lounge on deck chairs and enjoy offers and promotions from nearby food vendors while cheering their teams on. The screenings are part of Spitalfields Market’s activity-packed summer schedule.

The overview of the streaming timetable for the sporting events:

Wimbledon | 1-14 July
The Olympics | 26 July – 11 August
The Hundred Cricket | 1-25 August
Paralympics | 28 August – 8 September
Spitalfields will also be showing England’s cricket test matches. Full schedule can be found here and is updated regularly with timings and further details.

The hospitality vendors at Spitalfields will also offer promotions to their customers throughout the summer season. Italian restaurant Alfi has set up two ‘bocce’ lanes (Italian pétanque) and dartboards on their terrace and will be offering 50% off of the first drink. Brother Marcus has introduced their new summer menu, including dishes like fried chicken rosti and harissa eggs.

Lamb Street food kiosks are also offering 10% off with the Spitalfields app, and visitors can enjoy gluten-free fish & chips at Wicked Fish; birria tacos at Dos Mast Tacos; vegan wraps at Moving Mountains; Thai street-food at i-Thai; smoked brisket at Smokoloko; authentic Turkish food at Ebby’s Kitchen; pizza at Sud Italia; and British Wagyu burgers at Grime Burgers.

Spitalfields will reveal more of its upcoming summer activities in due course.
