Yes, seriously. Luke White, from Times Red has teamed up with DJ Tom Zanetti, Shide Boss, Towie star Ricky Rayment, and x- factor hopeful Jordi Whitworth, who was in band Overload, to create new band D5. If you’re wondering where else you’ve seen Luke, he was due to appear in Love Island back in 2016.
And we’ve got to admit, D5’s debut single – On Fire – is a bit good. the tune is so catchy once you’ve heard it once you can’t get it out of your head.
Not only have they been recording a song, the quintet also took the time to film a music video in which they appeared to announce their arrival on the pop scene as a new band, as well as perform to a packed out crowd. Nobody is quite sure what is happening, but you’re going to love it.
As well as a fun video – which includes a little cameo from Sinitta, Lee from steps, a couple of former EastEnders stars and hollywood actors – the song includes some pretty racy lyrics too.
It starts with the words: ‘I love when you walk around with no panties on, in my shirt from the night before.’
However the video is itself a bit of a tease for something else and leaves me wondering and wanting to ask these 5 boys so many more questions – how did you guys ever come up with the band, who wrote the song, where did that video come from and when are you going on tour? For now the band is a little elusive and dare i say exclusive.
In my opinion D5 could easily be this summers chart sensation.
