Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas will be among a host of celebrities to perform readings at this year’s Macmillan Carol Concert, happening on the 8th December at St John’s Smith Square in Westminster. Money from all ticket sales will help Macmillan Cancer Support continue their vital work for people living with cancer this Christmas.

Hosted by Victoria Derbyshire, the evening will feature readings from EastEnders’ star Nina Wadia, Sherlock’s Amanda Abbington and Midsomer Murders star Neil Dudgeon. Stephen Fry has also recorded a video reading especially for the Macmillan Carol Concert, which will be played on the night.

The Macmillan Carol Concert will also feature sing-along carols and music performances from Konya Kanneh-Mason, Ryan Quigley, Luci Briginshaw and The Northern Lights Symphony Orchestra.

This Christmas help to make money one less thing to worry about for people living with cancer.

Cancer patients have been some of the hardest hit by the cost of living rise this year. Ticket sales from the concert can help Macmillan Cancer Support help people living with cancer financially, as well as physically and emotionally.

Alex Schimmel, Macmillan High Value Events Lead explained how the money raised could help people with cancer:
“This year we have a fundraising target of £50,000. This could support our Macmillan Energy Advice Team to run the Energy Advice service of our Support Line for over two months. In this time, they could, on average, deal with around 1,704 calls or web enquires, providing advice on how people living with cancer can keep warm without the worry.”

“Whether it’s providing practical information about cancer, advising on treatment, or helping patients with money worries, Macmillan can continue to help people impacted by cancer only because of fundraisers like the Carol Concert.”
