Summer is off to a fantastic start at Putney Exchange Shopping Centre, where a pop-up garden is bringing community spirit to the heart of Putney.
The garden, featuring real trees and wildflowers, has quickly become a welcoming space for visitors to relax.
The first events in the garden included a vibrant flower wall installation created with local illustrator Gizem Gozde Ucar, along with a special visit from the Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child.
Throughout August, free eco-friendly creative drop-in workshops will run in the shopping centre every Saturday, offering hands-on and sustainable fun for children and families.
Later in the month, children can enjoy storytime sessions hosted by Waterstones Putney, alongside other events popping up throughout the month.
Centre Manager at Putney Exchange said: “We’re delighted to welcome the community to enjoy our pop-up summer garden, it’s the perfect spot to take time out of a busy day and enjoy a moment to relax.”
Robin Brown, Store Manager at Waterstones Putney, added: “We’re excited to bring our regular storytime sessions into the garden space this August. The setting is the perfect environment to engage young readers and families in a fun and relaxed way.”
