Yasmin Morgan, 23, from South Cerney has been amongst the first to taste the soon-to-be-launched Wotsits Prawn Cocktail Giants, five years after she petitioned snack maker Walkers to bring the retro flavour back to the nation’s shelves.
Since Wotsits Prawn Cocktail went off sale in 2002, Walkers has been inundated with social media messages from snack lovers begging for their return – making them their most requested flavour in the brand’s history. But it was superfan Yasmin who enjoyed the first taste of the flavour in over TWENTY years, after her Change.org petition ‘Bring Back Prawn Cocktail Wotsits’ caught the crisp giant’s eye.
Yasmin Morgan said: “I’ve loved Wotsits Prawn Cocktail for as long as I can remember, and when they disappeared off the shelves, I was absolutely gutted.
Five years ago, I decided to take the matter in my own hands, with a bit of help from the British public. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the petition to amass 4,000 signatures, let alone get me a first taste of the flavour before they go back on sale. I’m delighted Wotsits Prawn Cocktail have returned and it’s great to see the rest of the nation sharing the excitement with me!”
