Sushi on Jones brings affordable Omakase from New York to London’s King’s Cross

With a trio of hugely popular outposts in New York, the critically acclaimed Sushi on Jones has now arrived in London. Located on Goods Way in King’s Cross, this Omakase bar brings the best of the traditional Japanese experience to N1, in just 45 minutes per guest.

Omakase, meaning ‘chef’s choice’, is a form of Japanese dining in which guests leave themselves in the hands of the chef. Using premium ingredients available from land and sea, in short, this is the ultimate Japanese tasting menu.

Effectively breaking down the barrier of an Omakase experience, Sushi on Jones offers an affordable and quick experience. To be enjoyed over 45 minutes and priced at a very reasonable £48 per person, this 12-course tasting menu delivers all the taste and fun without the price tag and leaving you with plenty of time for post dinner cocktails too. Head Chef, Mattia hand selects all ingredients on the day and brings to life never-before-seen items from uni to toro, and Botan shrimp to wagyu and beyond, making it a new must-visit spot in the eclectic Goods Way development.

Now officially in full swing post lockdown, Sushi on Jones is intimate and playful, featuring counter seating where a handful of in-demand stools showcase the action around the grill firsthand. With wines from across the globe and a selection of sake from Japan to match, customers can expect pairing menus minus the stuffiness.

Sushi on Jones has garnered a cult-like following since opening its first branch in 2016 – New York’s first outdoor sushi bar in Bowery Market. Since then, the group have spawned two more branches, at Hell’s Kitchen in Gotham Market and West Village. After making the leap across the pond, there’s no doubt Sushi on Jones in Kings Cross will quickly establish itself as one of London’s top destinations for Omakase.
