A taste of Mexico is landing in Shoreditch to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this May bank holiday weekend. Join creators of authentic Mexican food, Gran Luchito, as it announces an exclusive one-night supper club, La Taquiza (aka Mexican taco party), hosted by chef and food writer, Sophie Wyburd and cocktail developer and Channel 4 drinks expert, Pritesh Mody, on Friday 2nd May 2025. Tickets will be priced at just £10 each and can be booked via Eventbrite, offering the most sought after Cinco de Mayo celebration in town. Gran Luchito is supporting The Felix Project, and will donate all ticket proceeds to the charity.
To bring Cinco de Mayo to London this year, Gran Luchito’s La Taquiza will take place at The Shoreditch Treehouse, transforming the space to celebrate the annual Mexican celebration. Fiesta celebrators are invited to enjoy an evening of handcrafted Mexican cocktails, and vibrant flavours within a multi-course taco menu, specially curated by Sophie Wyburd alongside Gran Luchito’s head chef and Mexican cuisine connoisseur, Susy Villasuso.
The taco menu promises to bring guests the bold flavours of authentic Mexican cuisine, using a selection of Gran Luchito’s range of sauces, seasonings, salsas, wraps and tortilla chips. With the menu set to include crispy Elotes Tostadas, cheesy Fried Chiles Rellenos Tacos and smoky Pollo Asado Tacos with vegetarian alternatives including Mushroom Pibil Tacos and Tofu Asado Tacos, there’s no better way to kick off the bank holiday weekend as Gran Luchito brings the heat to East London. Mexican inspired cocktail pairings will also be created by Pritesh Mody for a Cinco de Mayo to remember. Guests will also hear from Sophie and Pritesh about how to host the ultimate taco night at home, and how they can recreate authentic Mexican food using the quality products and distinctive flavours Gran Luchito’s range offers.
