Taste of London arrives in East London’s Tobacco Dock next month, promising
Londoners four days of unrivalled food and drink experiences, bespoke banquets and exclusive appearances, including the unveiling of the city’s longest, fattest sausage.
In collaboration with Simon ‘The Butch’ Taylor, founder of the acclaimed Surrey Hills Butchers, Taste of London will go the whole hog by creating The Notorious P.I.B. – a chunky 25 kg meat parcel designed to celebrate the lost art of butchery and ring in the beginning of the festive season.
For those ready to pig out, the sausage will be served to 300 lucky guests on the festival’s
opening night, Thursday 21 November. Due to its gargantuan size, it will take tens of metres of bacon to wrap and measure in at over two metres long, taking a whopping six hours to cook over a hog roast at Taste of London’s legendary fire pit, with a spectacular grand finale taking place as guests arrive.
The XXXL-mas sausage will feature special cuts and dry ageing, with Simon’s aim being to create something that shines a light on the lost art of butchery.
