Pupils at The Aldgate School got a surprise visit from Max Whitlock OBE who encouraged the youngsters to embrace a positive mindset and go after their goals.
Max Whitlock, the most successful gymnast in British history and who recently competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, spoke to pupils at The Aldgate School about the importance of having a positive mindset. The youngsters learned about Max’s Olympic journey, and how taking action and setting goals helped him to achieve his dreams.
NatWest, proud banking partner of Team GB, ran a prize draw offering six schools across England, Wales and Scotland the chance to win a visit from a Team GB athlete. And with 1,120 schools entering, The Aldgate school was one of the lucky winning schools. This initiative was part of the NatWest Thrive MoneySense programme which is a free programme for five to 18 year olds to help them reshape the way they think and learn about money, and help them build the skills, confidence and belief they need to own their future.
Alexandra Allan, Head Teacher at The Aldgate School said: “Our children really enjoyed their visit from Max and their love of gymnastics has been taken to a new level – we’re even going to be running a gymnastics club next term!
“It was great for the children to see and hear about what can be achievable with hard work and for them to understand that the path to success has ups and downs. Thanks so much to the MoneySense team for arranging this experience.”
