Tesco Southwark Superstore on Old Kent Road is helping its customers to become more involved in their local community by hosting a volunteering fair.

The volunteering fair will take place in the Southwark Superstore car park on Friday 20th September from midday to 4pm.

In attendance will be a range of local groups representing a range of good causes, such as from Blackfriars Settlement, Home Start and Community TechAid.

Madison Bryan, Community Champion at Southwark Superstore, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that we are able to host this volunteering fair. I have had the opportunity to volunteer personally and I know how rewarding this on a personal basis.

“All members of the local community are welcome to pop along and find out how they can get more involved in their local community.”
Local schools and community groups can also be supported through Tesco’s Stronger Starts programme.

Tesco’s blue token voting scheme which sees three local projects voted on by customers in store every three months, with first place awarded £1,500, second place £1,000 and third place £500.

The three projects local to Southwark in the current round are: Bird in Bush Primary School, Dallaglio Rugby Works and Tower Bridge Primary School, and voting is open until the end of September.
