Tesco’s commitment to local communities shines brightly once again as it announces its support for Ark Acton Academy’s Music Scholars project in Acton.

With a donation of £500 through Tesco’s Stronger Starts programme, the supermarket is championing the cause of music education and nurturing young talent in the heart of Acton.

The Ark Acton Academy Music Scholars project provides essential resources for musical development. In a time when arts funding faces significant challenges, this initiative stands as a testament to the importance of supporting the creative arts.

Alice Johnstone, Head of Music at Ark Acton Academy, said: “We are fortunate to have a vibrant and diverse Music department at our school, and the support from Tesco’s Stronger Starts donation scheme will significantly enhance our efforts in providing opportunities for self-expression and development through music.”

The funding will specifically target the provision of instruments for the school’s GCSE music students and allow them to practise at home as well as school. This funding will allow students to further develop their skills outside of school and better foster a relationship with music within the community.

Claire De Silva, Head of Communities at Tesco, shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to support the Ark Acton Academy Music Scholars project. Music has the power to uplift, inspire, and unite communities, and through our Stronger Starts donation scheme, we are proud to play a role in nurturing the next generation of musical talent.”

Tesco’s commitment to local causes like the Ark Acton Academy Music Scholars project underscores its dedication to fostering positive change in communities across the UK.
