Throughout June, the atrium of the City of London’s Leadenhall Market will be alive with the acoustics of a variety of musical performances, as the iconic Victorian
market announces its new ‘Funky Fridays’ series.
Taking place every Friday from 2 June, the market will be hosting musical talent of all genres, for visitors, shoppers and diners to enjoy over lunchtime from
12-2pm.
Performances will include jazz and calypso from
Valentino’s
Street Band Trio, acoustic pop songs from
London
Acoustic Project, opera in a gondola from
Oyster
Opera and jazz, soul and blues from the market’s resident actor and singer,
Charlie
Carter.
The performances are all free to watch and can be enjoyed from the comfort of the market’s deck chairs, while the beautiful cobbled alleyways also provide ample
space for those who want to have a boogie.
Leadenhall Market’s boutique shops, restaurants and bars will be open for visitors to enjoy a spot of shopping and something to eat and drink to get their weekend
off to the right start!
