The Chimney Lift at Battersea Power Station is launching its 2026 Lift Lates programme with the return of the popular photography workshop led by acclaimed cityscape photographer James Burns.
Taking place on 13th and 14th April from 6:30pm – 8:15pm, the exclusive Golden Hour Lift Lates sessions will invite guests to capture London’s skyline during a time that is widely regarded as one of the most visually dramatic moments of the day. Rising 109 metres above the city, participants will have the opportunity to photograph the capital as it transitions from daylight to dusk, with sweeping panoramic views across the Thames and beyond.
James Burns, known for his iconic rooftop perspectives of London and the eye behind @londonfromtherooftops, will guide attendees through the practical techniques behind successful sunset and low-light photography. The sessions will explore composition, exposure, camera settings, and methods for working with changing light conditions, helping photographers of all experience levels refine their approach.
As the sky shifts in colour and the city lights begin to emerge, guests will gain a rare vantage point for capturing London at one of its most atmospheric times.
James Burns, leading Golden Hour Lift Lates at The Chimney Lift, said: “After last year’s sold-out sessions, I’m delighted to be returning to The Chimney Lift. It offers one of the most striking perspectives anywhere in the capital, and sunset transforms the city in ways that are endlessly fascinating – colours shift, reflections change, and the skyline takes on an entirely new character. I can’t wait to work with a new group of photographers and help them see, and capture, London from this extraordinary vantage point.”
