Say hello to the Turkey, Bacon & Stuffing Toastie – a gloriously festive feast designed as a sandwich. Crammed with sliced turkey, smoked streaky bacon, gooey camembert, chestnut stuffing, braised red cabbage and cranberry sauce, all drenched in a rich red wine gravy and served with fries or a side salad, it’s essentially a Christmas dinner you can hold with both hands. Available Midday – 5pm, Monday – Friday from now until the end of December and priced at £12, this is set to be one of London’s most mouth-wateringly festive bites.
Fresh from a major refurb, The Crown Tavern is looking the part too. A Clerkenwell favourite since the 1600s, the pub has kept its historic good looks but added snug new corners, a refreshed dining room and plenty of greenery. It’s the perfect winter hideaway for a lunchtime pitstop or a post-stroll warm-up pint.
