Elephant and Castle welcomed a vibrant new destination this past weekend as The Elephant Market officially opened at Castle Square, drawing food lovers, craft enthusiasts and curious visitors from across London.
Previously known as The Elephant Park Market, the market has now made the move to Castle Square with the support of Get Living and the team at The Elephant, debuting a fresh identity, a prime location, and an exciting vision for the months ahead.
Operating 48 weeks of the year on Saturdays from 12pm until 5pm and Sundays from 11am until 5pm, The Elephant Market is part of the town centre’s transformation into a lively hub of food, crafts, and community.
Run by Real Food Markets, and evolving with the seasons, The Elephant market has been curated to include a mix of London and the UK’s best artisan food producers, street food and designers.
Expect everything from batch desserts and fresh pasta to handmade jewelry and ceramics.
The move to Castle Square marks an important step in the area’s regeneration, and The Elephant Market joins an already thriving Castle Square community of independent food and retail businesses. Long-standing favourites such as Original Caribbean Spice – known for its rich island flavours – and Kaieteur Kitchen – celebrated for its authentic Guyanese and Caribbean dishes – have helped establish Castle Square as a destination for diverse global cuisine and local enterprise. By adding a rotating line-up of artisan food producers and designer-makers, the market enhances the square’s reputation as a hub for culture, flavour, and creativity, offering visitors even more reasons to explore and return.
The Elephant Market is free and unticketed. Whether you’re seeking fresh flavours, one-of-a-kind crafts, or simply a lively weekend atmosphere, the area is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for Londoners and tourists alike. For more information, visit the website.
