The London Illustration Fair (The LIF) – Europe’s leading illustration event – celebrates its 10th year on Friday 24th to Sunday 26th November.
During its decade-long tenure, the artist-led festival has showcased the extraordinary creativity of some of the world’s most exciting emerging artists to over 60,000 visitors since it first opened its doors in Hoxton in 2013.
With an emphasis on engagement and interaction, it will once again this year convene an all star line-up of illustrators, workshops, installations and give fans the opportunity to come face to face with their favorite artists at London’s iconic OXO Tower Wharf in Southbank. The LIF has commissioned a number of Featured Artists to create special anniversary installations for its festivities based around the headline theme – artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
Since its beginnings, The LIF’s mission has been to create a community of artists and develop a platform designed to celebrate the artistic and cultural value of illustration in order to increase its recognition as an art form. Over the years, it has exhibited works from over 1,000 artists and sold more than 70,000 artworks with a combined sales of over £1 million.
It quickly became synonymous with collaborating with creative trailblazers including the likes of Jean Jullien, Morag Myerscough, Rupert Newman, Thierry Noir, Camille Walala and Mr Doodle – now one of the Top 10 Best Selling Artists under 40 in the world – to name but a few. The event has also played a pivotal role in helping cement London’s place as the beating heart of the global illustration scene.
Sam Bennett, Co-founder of the London Illustration Fair said: ‘The London Illustration Fair’s success has been its ability to create a platform for a diverse set of groundbreaking artists to not only be seen and heard but to have built a close knit community to spark creativity. We are incredibly proud to have helped artists grow over the years and would like to thank everyone who has supported our journey so far. We look forward to taking things to the next level in the years to come”.
For its tenth anniversary, The LIF will host 60+ exhibiting artists who will join the Featured Artists to create bespoke artwork and installations for the milestone event. The Featured Artists will lead with the theme of love, affection and acceptance – a theme inspired by the post pandemic rise in exacerbated loneliness. These will culminate in an eclectic mix of interactive installations, exhibitions, music and digital visuals spread throughout the fair.
The 10th London Illustration Fair will take place Friday 24th – Sunday 26th November at the Bargehouse, OXO Tower Wharf, London.
