Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, the housebuilders behind the Applegate Park development in Sittingbourne, recently donated £1,500 to The Medway Hospital Charity, as part of its Community Fund scheme.
Wanting to support the local hospital that cares for patients living in Medway and Swale, Barratt David Wilson Kent has contributed £1,500 to help fund new paediatric sensory equipment for the children’s wards at Medway Maritime Hospital.
Established in 1995, The Medway Hospital Charity funds projects that fall outside of the NHS budget, raising money to support wards and departments.
Its work ranges from smaller level impact investments like buddy chairs for families to stay overnight with patients, to much larger projects like the refurbishment of the hospital’s cancer unit.
The £1,500 donation is from The Barratt Redrow Foundation, the housebuilder’s charity partnership, which aims to support local charities and groups wherever Barratt Redrow operates across the UK.
Donna Law, Head of The Medway Hospital Charity, commented: “Thanks to Barratt David Wilson Kent’s generous gift, we will be able to provide the children’s wards with additional paediatric sensory equipment. This will help to support young patients during their hospital stay and ensure they are as comfortable as possible.”
Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt David Wilson Kent, added: “As we know, the NHS is facing financial strain, which is why investing in the work of organisations like The Medway Hospital Charity is so important to Barratt David Wilson Kent. We want to ensure that the health and wellbeing of our local community is taken care of – we aren’t just in the business of building houses; we want to support existing infrastructure within the community. We hope that the donation will bring joy to children whilst in hospital and are looking forward to hearing how the project progresses.”
Barratt David Wilson Homes Kent is currently selling a selection of three and four-bedroom homes at Mulberry Rise and Cherry Meadows as part of its wider development, Applegate Park. Prices at Mulberry Rise start from £359,995, while prices at Cherry Meadows start from £359,995.
