One of Bethnal Green’s most iconic pubs, The Old George, is set to unveil its brand-new look when it reopens on Monday 17th May!
Following a £170,000 investment, the venue has been given a breath of fresh air. With an updated interior and revamped beer garden, the pub is set to be the social hub for catchups with friends, those desperate to experience live music once again, or those keen to dine out for a change.
With customers expected to be allowed to enjoy food and drink inside pubs from May 17th, visitors are in for a treat when they get a glimpse of the fascinating new decor. The interior has been upgraded with many distinctive art pieces inspired by the Victorian era, perfectly complementing the existing eye-catching ‘objets d’art’.
Embracing the ‘shop local’ theme, The Old George will be stocking many local drink products on site – visitors can enjoy Beavertown, Five Points and even an Anspach and Hobday. And with a brand-new craft beer range, the venue will become well-known among craft connoisseurs. An extensive cocktail menu that features all the retro classics will also be on offer, alongside a range of spirits, wines and soft drinks.
Customers that are tired of getting hot and bothered behind the stove can look forward to hand-stretched sourdough pizza, shareable chicken wings, burgers and more. The pub’s famous all-day Sunday roasts will also be returning, as well as plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free mains, small plates, sharers and desserts. And if that wasn’t enough – regular offers such as Margherita Mondays, Craft Your Own Burger and Fizz Fridays, will help make guests’ money go further, whilst finding new favourites to feast upon!
The Old George’s events are also back with a bang! Music lovers can look forward to live acoustic performances on Thursdays and DJs on a Friday and Saturday, as well as the long-awaited return of the monthly “Queerly Beloved” party night, perfect for celebrating the LGBTQA+ community. If customers would prefer a more relaxed ambience, Board Games Night on Tuesday and Quiz Night on Wednesday will be the perfect excuse to nip to the local for an evening tipple.
Amory Blane, General Manager of The Old George, commented:
“We’re all incredibly excited to be reopening The Old George, and to be reopening with a bang! This has been a tough year for us all and we’re so grateful for everyone that has helped keep the local community and us going.
“We’ve got a brand-new rotational craft beer selection available, with local beers being at the forefront. Our weekly live music events and DJs will be returning soon and I’m sure everyone is excited! But until then, we can’t wait to welcome new and old faces back to The Old George!”
