1. Moraira
Moraira, located in the Marina Alta, is known for its beautiful beaches and charming marina. Playa de l’Ampolla is ideal for a relaxing day, while Cala del Portet is perfect for snorkelling and swimming.
Stroll around the harbour and enjoy the excellent gastronomic offer, especially the fresh fish dishes. Moraira also boasts a castle which offers spectacular views of the sea.
2. Elche
About 20 minutes drive from the city of Alicante is Elche, known for its impressive palm grove, the largest in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
From here, we recommend a walk through the Huerto del Cura and discover the majesty of its palm trees.
Also, don’t miss the Basilica of Santa María, where the Misteri d’Elx, a theatrical performance declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is held every year.
3. Jávea
Jávea is another destination you can’t miss on your route. Its crystal-clear coves, such as Cala Granadella and Cala del Portixol, are perfect for diving and snorkelling, so you can make more aquatic plans!
You can also enjoy nature by going up to Cabo de la Nao to enjoy one of the best views of the Mediterranean. The old town, with its traditional architecture, is also worth a visit.
4. Alfaz del Pi
Alfaz del Pi, along with its Albir beach, is a hidden gem on the Costa Blanca. It is undoubtedly perfect for those seeking tranquillity and nature in this coastal area.
In particular, this charming coastal village is located near the Sierra Helada, a natural park ideal for hiking and enjoying breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. In fact, there you will find the well-known Albir Lighthouse, from where you can watch the best sunsets in the area.
In addition, you can walk along its promenade, full of stars on the ground, due to the Film Festival that is held every year in the village.
5. Altea
Another essential stop on the route is Altea, one of the prettiest villages in the province. Its cobbled streets and white houses with flowers on the balconies will take you back to the fishing village life of the area years ago.
A visit to the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, with its famous blue and white dome, is a must. There you can also enjoy the views from the viewpoint. The rest of the time, don’t hesitate to stroll around the old town and enjoy the local gastronomy in one of its restaurants. A delight!
6. Benissa
Benissa, also in the Marina Alta, is known for its well-preserved old town and stunning scenery. Stroll through its medieval streets and visit the Puríssima Xiqueta Church. Benissa’s coves, such as Cala Advocat and Cala Baladrar, are perfect for a relaxing day by the sea.
The Benissa Ecological Walk offers hiking routes with spectacular views of the coastline.
7. Calpe
Returning to the coast, you can’t miss Calpe, famous for the Peñón de Ifach, an imposing rocky promontory that is one of the symbols of the Costa Blanca. If you’re a hiking lover, you’ll love the route up to the top – the views are spectacular!
Afterwards, you can relax on its beaches, such as Playa de la Fossa, and visit the old town with its picturesque streets and archaeological remains.
8. Denia
Denia, located in the north of the province, is the end of the route, but it is no less important! In fact, this town is famous for its castle, which offers panoramic views of the city and the sea.
Also, we advise you to visit the port and Loreto street, which are ideal for tasting the excellent local gastronomy, especially the seafood and rice dishes.
Denia is also known for its Moors and Christians festival, a festival full of colour and tradition.
