The winter illuminations return once more to RHS Hyde Hall after the sell-out success of its first event in 2020. Thousands of lights and vibrant vistas will transform the garden, creating magical moments for visitors throughout the festive season. Colourful tree canopies, sparkling shrubs and glittering water features light the way around the garden, taking in iconic sights and breathtaking displays.Visitors are being urged not to miss their chance to book tickets for Glow at RHS Garden Hyde Hall, with some dates already sold out two weeks before the event opens on 10 November.
New for this year, the trail is almost double the length of the 2020 route to take in the ascending winding pathways of the Australia and New Zealand Garden, from where visitors can take in sweeping views down to the lake that will be awash with festive colour. Catch distant views of the garden’s glasshouse all aglow, as sound effects create a magical atmosphere along the way. In the Winter Garden, be enchanted by RHS Hyde Hall’s iconic woven willow structures and leaf sculptures bathed in light.
RHS Hyde Hall Curator Robert Brett says: “After the phenomenal response to our first Glow trail at Hyde Hall last year, we’re thrilled to be bringing visitors an even bigger and better experience in 2021. There are still tickets available for some Wednesday and Thursday evenings, but I would urge people to book soon as we are anticipating another sell-out event, and no further tickets will be available – once they’re gone, they’re gone!”
Take a break along the way to enjoy food and drink from festive German-style stalls. Enjoy traditional mulled wine, spiced apple and hot chocolate, as well as Bratwurst sausage, beef burgers, chicken shish kebab or hearty bean and vegetable cassoulet.
The Clover Café at the garden entrance will also be serving a selection of hot dishes, snacks and sweet treats to enjoy before or after a visit to Glow. Warming favourites include beef lasagne with toasted garlic flatbread and salad, battered cod goujons with chunky chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce or roast butternut squash with mixed bean and vegetable chilli.
Don’t forget to visit the Shop and Garden Centre to find a wonderful range of decorations, Christmas cards and festive food and drink, as well as gifts to delight garden lovers. Browse seasonal plants to brighten the home and garden, and pick up a glorious British-grown Christmas tree or wreath (from late November).
Selected dates from 10 November 2021 – 1 January 2022. Tickets for Glow are selling fast and must be booked in advance online. For more information and to book, visit www.rhs.org.uk/hydehallglow
